Today I recieved an order from The Loopy Ewe containing the February Dream in Color club shipment- a skein of Dream in Color Starry in an exclusive club colorway (Honeymoon) to knit the Plieades scarf (Raverly link only, unfortunantly!) which was also part of the club shipment. One of the things that I love about ordering from The Loopy Ewe is that they throw in nifty little freebies with your orders. I’ve recieved SOAK samples, little cards with a few yards of yarn wrapped around them for feeling the yarn before buying, and today I recieved a sweet little Loopy’s Red Sock kit. It included the pattern and yarn to knit up a wee tiny sock. What one would actually do with a wee tiny sock is beyond me, as the sock knits up too small even for premmie feet. But it does make a cute keychain or fridge magnet! So having never knit a sock in my life, and having become completely engrossed in my current project, I needed to knit this sock. Get me away from these cables and bring on a fancy shmancey new word like “gusset!” So knit it up I did. Im really liking the results:
A wee tiny little sock perfect for the likes of Iron Man. See, even super heros enjoy a nice hand knit sock!
I recently blogged about the Audrey in Unst cardi I was knitting. What I didn’t blog about was that after having knit 6″ of twisted rib and about 2″ of stockinette, I came to the horrific realization that I am not nearly as big as I imagine myself to be. The cardigan was turning out entirely too huge, so I had to frog it. After sulking for a few days I saw a Horray Cardigan knit by Erin from Eat.Sleep.Knit had knit and I knew that this cardi was what my beloved Madelinetosh dk was meant to become.
Hoping to have this cardigan finished before the Hubs comes home, and it’s looking like it will be. Probably wont be wearing this with the homecoming dress, but I forsee plenty of date nights to come!
Have a great weekend, all!
